Before i Die by Jenny Downham      418is5%2BgO1L._SS500_.jpg

Yes its a magnificent book that doesn't involve a vampire for students to crave or die for. You are being warned about how emotionally attached readers can get to this book. Finally, a human book for teenagers to enjoy. A warm and touching story of the 16 year old Tessa Scott who has been diagnosed with leukemia for the past four years. With time running out Tessa is determined to accomplish the list for "things to do before i die" which includes sex, drugs and everything else that is forbiddin. As a young reader "Before i die" not only shows the dying but Jenny Downham has made us appreciate also the gift to live.READ.

      Constance - Rosie Thomas

Nicley written but personally, I didn't like the relationship of the sisters in the novel. It is very sad and selfish! The story mainly revolves around sisters ( one is adopted, the other deaf)  who love the same man and of 2 other minor characters who find love somewhere unexpected. Before reading this book, make a promise to yourself that when you get to the end, you will not let yourself be affected in any way. Have fun reading it!

Dust by Colin ThompsonDust by Colin Thompson

Short-listed for The Children's Book Council of Australia Award.

This story was written in recognition of the suffering of 3.6 million people in Niger, Africa in 2005, when severe drought and locust infestation resulted in starvation in a country that was already the poorest in the world. Colin Thompson coordinated the work of 14 famous artists/illustrators, and between them they have created an emotive work that depicts the horror of this time from the point of view of one child. A Sophisticated Picture Book for teenagers and adults. All royalties from sales of this book go to the Save the Children organisation.

Mikayla - Impulse By Ellen Hopkins. I read a book a while ago, and I've got to say, I love it. This book is about three teenagers who attempt suicide and are committed into the same institution. It's gritty, but is equally inspirational. This book is written in free-verse poetry, and it's an amazing way of telling the story in a completley breath-taking fashion. Please read it!
