METACOGNITION

Metacognition is when you think about what you are doing

It is becoming your own self-character

It is taking responsibility for your own thinking

Self Questions For Metacognition

So I may remember what I am doing I should ask myself...

"What am I about to do?"

So I might be clear about my purpose, I should ask myself…

“Why am I doing this?” “Why is it so important?”

So I might connect with this task to things that I have learned before, I should ask myself…

“Where does it fit with what I already know?”

So I might seek a suitable strategy I should ask myself…

“What is my plan of attack?”

So I might know this is forever, I should ask myself…

“How can I use this is real life?”

So I might know how effective my learning has been, I should ask myself…

“How can I measure my success?”

So I might understand what else this is to know, I should ask myself…

“Do I need to do more?” “ What other questions remain to be answered?”
