EPIC is a selection of online databases which contain electronic resources. There are 13 databases which contain over 10,000 full text magazines, reference works, biographies, graphics, maps as well as video and sound clips. It is a gateway to millions of articles from magazines, newspapers and reference publications.

Ask the librarians for the login and the password so that you can use this from home.

DISCOVER

Discover is a database of resources selected for use by New Zealand schools. Over 2,500 multimedia items are available and almost all are from National Library of New Zealand collections. Access to Discover is free.

Currently Discover supports the Visual Arts and Music disciplines of the Arts/Nga Toi curriculum by providing a rich selection of works by some of New Zealand's musicians, artists, photographers, designers and architects both historic and contemporary, Maori and Pakeha.

TIMEFRAMES

Timeframes is an online database of heritage images from the Alexander Turnbull Library. The database includes items of cultural value to Mäori people and other New Zealanders.

MATAPIHI

Matapihi is digital collections of some of New Zealand's premier organisations. It provides a single point of access for around 50,000 selected images, sounds and objects.

PAPER PAST

Papers Past showcases selected 19th century New Zealand newspapers and periodicals. The site currently contains digital images of over 600,000 pages from 30 publications. This site has specific software requirements for the viewing of large image files. First time users please go to Getting Started. This online collection represents a selection of the Library's microfilmed Newspapers list. Click on Maori in the navigation bar on any page of Papers Past to browse the site in Maori.
